The Meaning Behind the Name Materik

We did not choose the name Materik by accident. We chose it because it means something.

In Slavic languages, "materik" means continent: a solid, unmoving landmass. Something rooted. Something permanent. In Italian, it echoes "materia": matter, material, the raw substance from which everything is made.

That tension between the two is exactly who we are. Solid like a continent. Alive like a material.

We started with a question

We did not start from a product category. We started with a question: what if the objects people carry every day were made with the same intention as the things they wear?

In our world, a phone case is not a utility item. It is a surface. A statement. A signature. And like every good material, it should have character, depth, texture, and a story that does not repeat.
